Pinhas - פנחס

Pinhas finds the warmth and family togetherness that he is missing in his own home at the home of his Sephardi religious neighbors. The troubles begin when the different cultural worlds of the two families clash.

חדש מרוסיה, בן לאם חד הורית, המתפרנסת 

ממשמרות לילה. פנחס מוצא את החום והמשפחתיות 

החסרים לו בביתו בקרב משפחת שכנים דתיים ממוצא 

מזרחי. שם הוא פוגש את חנהל’ה, בת גילו, ואת שמעון 

אחיה הגדול, שמגלה לו את עולם הדת. הצרות מתחילות 

כשהעולמות התרבותיים השונים של שתי המשפחות, 

מתנגשים. 

About the facilitator, Yoni Alon:

Yoni Alon is in the business of building bridges between Israelis and North American Jews. He was an Israeli Shaliach / Emissary with the Jewish Agency for Israel at the Denver (2013-2015), prior to that, he served in the Israel Defense Force (IDF) for seven and a half years (Maj res.). Throughout his military service, he acted in various roles, including as a liaison officer in the International Cooperation Unit of the IDF, connecting the U.S. military with the IDF. In the last 7 years, he has been working independently with Masa, JAFI, ANU Museum, WZO, Momentum, and other Israeli and Jewish nonprofits on various educational projects. He is a graduate of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem with a BA in political science and media and a current student of the Ruderman MA program for American Jewish Studies at the University of Haifa. He lives in Tel Aviv and enjoys open-water swimming and Improv classes whenever he can.
