Camp Scholarships

Thanks to funds raised through the Minneapolis Jewish Federation Annual Community Campaign, we are able to share the joy of Jewish summer camps with kids all across the Minneapolis area.
ROUND 1 REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED

Federation wants to make it possible (and easy!) for your child to go to camp and we have the scholarship money available to make it happen! Whether it’s a day camp or overnight camp, the quintessential Jewish summer camp experience is available to all kids in our community.

We understand that camp is expensive and scholarship processes feel overwhelming. Whether you have a first time camper or a returning camper, you choose the Jewish experience that fits your life and we’ll be here to simplify and support you.

We encourage everyone to apply for a Jewish camp scholarship—and bring the magic of camp to your child!

Why should you send your kid to Jewish summer camp?

  • They’ll create lifelong memories and meet positive role models.
  • It fosters self-esteem
  • They’ll make lifelong friends.
  • Camp keeps them active and promotes independence.
  • They’ll learn new skills and hobbies.
  • It boosts their social skills and allows them to unplug from technology.
  • It can be a life-changing experience.

Why should you send your kid to Jewish summer camp?

Timing Overview:

Round #1
(for overnight camp only, first 50 applications)

  • Registration open Oct. 20, 2025 – Nov. 24, 2025
  • Award notifications sent to families no later than December 19, 2025.

Round #2
(for day camps & overnight camps)

  • Registration open Jan. 5, 2026 – Mar. 2, 2026
  • Award notifications sent to families no later than April 3, 2026.

MJF Guideline Basics:

  • Camper/s must be attending a Jewish camp, and entering grades K-12 to apply.
  • Campers/families must be residents of the greater Minneapolis metropolitan area. (Residents of the St. Paul area must apply through St. Paul Jewish Federation).
  • Campers must be registered for camp prior to completing a scholarship application.
  • Camp dates and rates for 2026 must be indicated on the camp’s website, meaning that registration is open. Camps also need a valid email address for processing.
  • Scholarship funds are available only for the cost of camp tuition (not applicable to registration, transportation, trip fees, before & after care costs, etc.)
  • Scholarship payments will be sent directly to the child’s camp.
  • Funds that have been awarded cannot be redistributed to other siblings in a family.
  • MJF will cap scholarships at $1,500 for overnight camp awards and $800 for day camp awards, for Summer 2026. Contact Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis, and/or Bet Shalom directly for details on their awards if you apply.

Funds are limited and allocated to those in greatest financial need (including to families affected by disabilities, and other special financial circumstances)
