Meet Stacy Pinck, chair of the 2022 Uganda Global Experience!

Stacy Pinck is an active member of the Minneapolis Jewish community, with involvement in many local organizations. The Minneapolis Jewish Federation has particularly benefitted from her service on our Overseas and Women’s Philanthropy Committees. Uganda and its Jewish community is near and dear to Stacy’s heart. In 2019, Stacy travelled with Federation’s Global Experience to Uganda and witnessed firsthand the work that Global Village Connect has put into building a meaningful connection with the Abayudaya. She was part of a group of Federation volunteers and staff who helped with the construction of a kitchen at the Tikkun Olam Primary School—a place that participants on the 2022 trip will have a chance to see and work at, among other important volunteering projects. “Being able to actually make the kitchen in this school meant that kids were going to eat, they were going to have more attendance, they were going to grow, they were going to be successful,” Stacy said. “That really drives me.”

As chair of the 2022 Uganda Global Experience, Stacy encourages other members of the Minneapolis Jewish community to join her on a life-changing global experience. “There is a place for everyone,” she said, explaining the variety of jobs and skills that will come in handy on the 2022 GE. “The need is so great, there’s a spot for everyone.”

All you need to go on the Uganda GE is a passion for tikkun olam and a willingness to get your hands dirty. For Stacy, this is “a different kind of trip.” If you’re ready to join her in Uganda for an experience you’ll remember and cherish for the rest of your life, view the itinerary below and sign up for Uganda 2022.
