Responding To Crisis
Caring for others in their time of need is a Jewish value. Minneapolis Jewish Federation embodies this value — and has been for decades.
War, natural disasters, terror, violence, and hatred shatter millions of lives each year. One of Federation’s tried and true functions is to mobilize and respond in times of crises.
Over the past decade, our Minneapolis Jewish community has invested more than $30 million in urgent relief to those directly affected and to aid long term recovery.
We work with The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), our historic core partners who have hundreds of years of human relief infrastructure and relationships in place to respond immediately no matter where in the world crisis strikes. Over the past few years, our emergency response partners have expanded to hundreds more NGOs with purposes ranging from mental health support, grassroots volunteerism, rebuilding communities, education, and beyond.
Current & Past Emergency Response Campaigns

Our funds are pooled with other Federations around North America, collectively raising $840+ million.
