Rimon (ri-MṐN) 1. Hebrew for pomegranate 2. Ancient symbol of fruitfulness and abundant good deeds 3. The Minnesota Jewish Arts Council. Artists are an integral part of Minnesota’s Jewish culture. Rimon champions and connects artists who explore Jewish themes, and makes sure art is part of the community conversation.
Since beginning as a collaborative project of Minneapolis Jewish Federation and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts in 1995, Rimon has shown the power of community-building and education through the arts. We provide financial and marketing resources for artists to build their careers, opportunities and platforms for artists and audiences to engage with each other — and in doing so, helps people deepen their connection to Jewish life.
Our mission: Rimon builds community through the arts by raising the visibility of artists who broadly explore Jewish themes; enhancing Jewish identity through arts and culture; and promoting a collaborative, art-centered Jewish community.
