Yesod, now in its fourth cohort, is the Minneapolis Jewish Federation’s advanced leadership development program. Federation is passionate about developing successful leaders in our Jewish community, and we admire your commitment to and passion for the community.
Local educator Sally Abrams will facilitate Yesod’s Jewish leadership development curriculum over eight evening sessions (see dates below). The sessions will take place at the Minneapolis Jewish Federation office located at 111 Cheshire Lane, Suite 50, in Minnetonka.
Developed by Hebrew University’s Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning, and written by renowned author and educator Dr. Erica Brown, the Yesod curriculum is specially designed to leverage leadership potential within a Jewish organization. In addition, participation in Yesod will provide an ideal platform for peer networking across participating Minneapolis Jewish community organizations, synagogues, and schools.
The curriculum inspires and educates using case studies, reflective exercises, and Jewish texts. The first half of the curriculum will focus on personal leadership skills including an in-depth analysis of personal strengths and how to leverage them to be a stronger leader. The second half of the curriculum will focus on organizational leadership. There will be homework consisting of readings and videos to complete prior to each session (approximately 30 minutes).
Here is an overview of the topics that will be covered:
- The Personal Journey to Leadership •The Difference between Power and Influence •Growing from Failure • Mentoring and Growing Others • Nurturing Vision • Effective Change Management • Inspired Communication • Creating a Leadership Pipeline with Better Succession Planning
