MN Jewish Artists Directory

Rimon: The Minnesota Jewish Arts Council is asking Minnesota’s Jewish artists to stand up and be counted.

In 1999 Rimon published a hard-copy, 81-page Minnesota Jewish Arts Directory. It featured profiles of hundreds of Minnesota-based Jewish artists and proved to be a game-changer in how the community understood the depth and talent of the regional Jewish arts scene.

As we enter a very different era, Rimon invites artists to use its latest platform-a free, online, and interactive directory. Thanks to a seed grant from the Minneapolis Jewish Federation and funding from the Oren and Sharron Steinfeldt Foundation, Rimon has begun putting into place a more comprehensive plan for connecting the community with its large population of artists.

Artists are an integral part of Minnesota’s Jewish culture. Some of the perks of this new online artist directory are:

  • Create more opportunities for collaboration and employment for Jewish artists.
  • Increase the visibility of writers, playwrights, choreographers, composers, actors, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, architects, visual artists, photographers, and other Jewish artists.
  • Offer a user-friendly, easily updated format that is maintained for a high standard of consistency and excellence
  • Highlight the role of artists in the Jewish community of Minnesota.
