You’ll be using an online grant application system when you apply for funding through Federation. The system is used by many community foundations and is user-friendly and intuitive.
Once you start your application, you can stop and save your work anytime.
You can find tips and guidance on using the system through our Help page.
Step 1: Determine which type of funding you’re applying for
If you’re a current Community Partner applying for unrestricted funding:
You will receive detailed funding guidelines early in March, 2016, and applications are due April 20, 2016.
If you’re a current Community Partner applying for program funding for a specific program:
Use our Decision Tree to determine if this program should be included in your application for unrestricted funding, or if you should apply separately for Program Funding.
If you are not a current Community Partner:
You will be applying for Program Funding (open to any 501(c)(3) organization). Prior to investing the time in a full application, please submit a Letter of Inquiry no later than April 4, 2016.
What should I apply for?
If you’re not sure, use our Decision Trees to determine what you should apply for.
Step 2: Get organized
Whether you’re applying for Unrestricted Funding or Program Funding, there are a few basic things you’ll want to organize:
- Program descriptions, including audience(s), activities and impact
- Contact details for those who can answer any questions about your application
