WHAT’S AT STAKE FOR WOMEN’S HEALTH AND WHY COURTS MATTER

May 18, 2016

Edina Country Club

6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Earlier this year, the Supreme Court heard Oral Arguments in Whole Women’s Health vs. Hellerstedt. This case could decide whether abortion, a currently legal practice, could become practically inaccessible to millions of women and place an “undue burden” on women’s access to reproductive health care.

This is a pivotal time and case for women’s reproductive health rights in this country, and one of the many reasons that #CourtsMatter.

SHAVUOT

Shavuot combines two major religious observances. First is the grain harvest of the early summer. Second is the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai seven weeks after the exodus from Egypt.

Although everyone agrees that the food of choice for Shavuot is cheese, most typically blintzes, or a Sephardic equivalent such as burekas, there are differences of opinion (some quite charming) as to why it is a custom.

Whatever your dairy food of choice (we like cheesecake), we hope you enjoy the day!
