Did you know?

Thanks to funds raised through the Minneapolis Jewish Federation Annual Community Campaign, we are able to share the joy of Jewish summer camps with kids all across the Minneapolis area.

Federation wants to make it possible (and easy!) for your child to go to camp and we have the scholarship money available to make it happen! Whether it’s a day camp or overnight camp, the quintessential Jewish summer camp experience is available to all kids in our community.

We encourage everyone to apply for a Jewish camp scholarship—and bring the magic of camp to your child!

Why should you send your kid to Jewish summer camp?

  • They’ll create lifelong memories
  • They’ll meet positive role models
  • Camp fosters self-esteem
  • Lifelong friends are made at camp
  • Keeps them active
  • Promotes independence
  • Lets them learn new skills and hobbies
  • Boosts their social skills
  • Allows kids to unplug from technology
  • Provides life-changing experiences

Application Guidelines

Before filling out the Common Camp Scholarship Application, please review the guidelines carefully.

  • The Common Camp Scholarship Application form is also accepted by other scholarship-granting organizations.
  • For sending applications to camps or other organizations, refer to the attached list containing Jewish Camp Scholarship-Granting Organization Contact Information.
  • Prior to completing the application CAMPERS MUST BE REGISTERED FOR CAMP; otherwise, it will not be considered.
  • Camp dates and rates for 2024 must be indicated on the camp’s website, meaning that enrollment has opened.
  • Children must be attending a Jewish camp and entering grades K-12 to qualify.
  • Children and families must be residents of the greater Minneapolis metropolitan area. Children and families in the St. Paul area should apply through the Jewish Federation of Greater St. Paul.
  • Scholarships will be awarded to children registered for day & overnight Jewish camps.
  • Strong preference will be given for camps within the Midwest region (i.e. Minnesota and Wisconsin) but special circumstances will be considered.
  • Funds are limited and generally allocated to those in greatest need.
  • Scholarship funds may be available specifically for children with special needs.
  • For those opting to apply through the Minneapolis Jewish Federation, please note that only online applications via the application portal will be accepted.
  • If you choose to apply through Jewish Family and Children’s Service, they will accept applications through the Federation’s online portal as well as the common scholarship form.
  • If you decide to apply through an organization not mentioned above, you can save your application as a PDF, print it, and send it directly to each relevant organization.
  • Scholarship funds are available only for the cost of camp tuition (not applicable to registration, transportation, trip fees, before & after care costs, etc.)
  • Scholarship payments will be sent directly to the child’s camp.
  • Funds that have been awarded cannot be redistributed between other siblings in a family. For example, should two siblings receive scholarship assistance, but one does not attend camp, their award will be forfeited and returned to the fund for future needs.
  • Please be aware that there will be two rounds of scholarship awards (outlined below) from the Minneapolis Jewish Federation.
